You ZIG and I ZAG challenge #45

Hi all.  Bronwyn here.  It's my week to challenge you with an artistic paper-crafting provocation!!

And this time 'round it is the

ZIG- ZAG!!

Here's my use of this perennial favourite using some velvety ric-rac to add the "zig":

Lynne
I used a large zig zag ric-rac too, but I also tired to tried to add more by adding zig zag paper and design.I love that Bronwyn and I both used a 'summer' theme.
(I apologize in advance for the not so perfect image, I don't have a scanner that stitches anymore)

Barb
I love using rick rack. I love the look of it and how it adds a bit of whimsy to a project.
Here's my layout for this challenge.

Challenge #44 Craft with Kraft

Welcome friends,

This week I am challenging you to use one of my go-to supplies, kraft paper. I use it often, it's a great neutral and it looks great with almost any colour. It's kinda like kraft is the new white.

A popular theme in our crafting world is Christmas in July. Kraft works so well with holiday colours, I decided to create a page about one of our favourite traditions.

Have fun this week getting crafty with kraft!

Lynne
Unlike Joy, I rarely use Kraft.  I searched for quite a while in my stash to find some Kraft paper.  I found one sheet in a Tim Holtz Kraft-core paper stack.  I decided to 'up' the Kraft challenge by using a couple of kraft colored embellishments.

Barb
Well, I haven't been around in the past few weeks as I've been away. It looks like there's been lots of great stuff going on around here. I'm hoping that I can get caught up on the previous challenges.
Joy got me using kraft a few months ago. I couldn't seem to make it work before, but now I love using it.

Bronwyn

Hi all. Sorry for the delay.  Summer makes me forget what day of the week it is.....so I am late to the party!! I didn't come empty-handed though.

Not a lot of kraft here - I rarely use it. But this kraft-coloured journalling spot fit with my other layout colours so well!!

Challenge #43- Put it in your Pocket

Hello all you crafty people!

It's time for another challenge, this week we want to see you get creative with pockets.
There are lots of options for a pocket: photo pockets, hidden journaling pockets or a pocket for a tag, just to name a few.

I created a pocket to hold a gift card

We hope you can play along this week and link up your project using the Mister Linky below.
Have a fabulous week, happy crafting!

Lynne

I did a layout using a cowboy hat pocket to hold my ticket stub and another pocket to hold my photo collage. But looking at the finished product,  it really doesn't look much like a pocket .  I thought I would share it anyway.

So, I pulled out this old layout from last year that shows a pocket a lot better.

Show Me Your Colors Challenge #42

Hi everyone.  It is Lynne here this week.  Of the four of us, I am the only American.  This past week we celebrated our country's Independence Day on July 4th.  I know that my Canadian friends enjoyed Canada Day on July 1.  I have also noticed that there are quite a few people following our challenges from other countries (which is wonderful, by the way), so my challenge to you this week is to show me your PATRIOTIC colors.  It does not have to be a patriotic layout or card.  In fact, you will notice that my example is just done using the good old Red White & Blue, nothing patriotic about the subject matter.  Have fun.  I look forward to what everyone comes up with.

Bronwyn

Here is my best- all decked out in Red and White!!

Joy

We don't get out for Canada Day celebrations so I'm going to France this week for my layout.
Every year my husband and I watch the Tour de France, he loves to ride too.
The red, white & blue colours of the French flag gave me a starting point.

Button Up! Challenge #41

Hi there scrapping friends!  We've been celebrating Canada Day weekend here in my neck of the woods.  The weather has been lovely, the food scrumptious and time with family and friends- awesome!!

I've always had a thing for buttons - I used to sort Oma's tins full of them,  my mother collected them to add to her hand-knit sweaters and I remember having quite a collection of pretty ones when I was a little girl.  Even now I can boast to the fact that I have 8 quart-sized canning jars full of the colourful plastic discs ready to be added to a knitting project or my papercrafting.

So - if you haven't guessed yet- this week's challenge is to use BUTTONS on your creation.

Here is my button-y card:

Lynne
I too like buttons.  I have lots of them, don't we all, so my only problem was figuring out which color would work best on this layout.  These little red buttons with some twine threaded through them worked perfectly as the 'extra touch' embellishment.

Joy

I have a button stash that needs to be used up.
